Sheffield United star Chris Basham has confirmed he’s already had his first operation after suffering an awful lower leg injury against Fulham.
The Blades’ defender was left stricken on the turf picking up the horrendous issue in the first half at Craven Cottage.
Basham, 35, was given oxygen on the pitch and stretchered off the pitch, giving a thumbs up to supporters.
And while an initial diagnosis on the injury is yet to be communicated, the player confirmed he had already received surgery as his recovery begins.
He posted an image to Instagram with the caption: “Devastated with my injury in yesterdays game, had my first operation to clean things up and will have a second this week to make things right…
“Would like to thank the football world for there support in messages and social media posts all my close friends and family to Sheffield united for taking care of me and @fulhamfc for there support in the process @timream5 for being there and putting football aside.
