Inter Milan has released its latest financial figures which reveals the final amount they received from Manchester United for Andre Onana.
The Cameroonian signed for United this summer after impressing for the Nerazzurri during their run to last season’s Champions League final.
The Serie A giants were reluctant to lose the 27-year-old but United’s offer was too good to turn down for a club needing to balance the books.
Inter’s public financial reports confirmed on Thursday that they received a final fee of €50.2m (£43.7m) for Onana.
Onana was headhunted by boss Erik ten Hag as the club’s new No.1, taking over from the out-of-contract David de Gea.
But his heroics haven’t come without issues having had an indifferent start to the season.
Onana was at fault in United’s opening two Champions League fixtures having lost both games to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray respectively.
He was quick to apologise for his error against the German champions, publicly claiming he was at fault for his side’s 4-3 defeat in Bavaria.
United’s unsettled back line has not been helpful to Onana’s bedding in period with injuries to Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tyrell Malacia all preventing the 27-year-old from building an understanding with his new teammates.
Even with reports of De Gea making a return to the club as cover for Onana when he departs for Africa Cup of Nations duty in January, Ten Hag is likely to continue his current goalkeeping hierarchy.
Onana will be hoping to continue his good run of form on Sunday when treble winners Manchester City make the short trip to Old Trafford.
